Expanded 4th edition:  Biking & Hiking the American River Parkway

Good news! ARNHA's best selling field guide, the expanded 4th edition of Biking and Hiking the American River Parkway, is hot off the press and available now.

This book is a natural and cultural history of the 32-mile Jedediah Smith Memorial Bicycle Trail.  Many of the plants and wildlife, as well as the trails described were known to the Nisenan native tribe of the Southern Maidu, fur trappers, explorers, pioneers, gold miners and Pony Express riders.  Bicyclists and hikers have shared in the adventure for more than 100 years.

It is mile-by-mile trail guide between Discovery Park and Folsom Lake. It includes access point information and lots of maps and photographs.

New!
Descriptions of the nine Horse Staging areas along the Parkway.
